Guardian angels are messengers or God. Sometimes, they are sent by God to help us go through a challenging or difficult phase in our life. Angels are also our guides. Walking in a dark alley or an area surrounded by tall trees becomes easier when we pray to our guardian angels. These heavenly beings are always with us, just waiting for us to call on them when we need them. But there are a lot of things that we have yet to know about guardian angels. Here are three of the most interesting ones:
The moment we are born, our guardian angels are already with us.
It is said that an angel is appointed to watch over us the minute we are born and are welcomed to the world. In fact, it was St. Thomas Aquinas who said that as soon as a human being is born, a guardian angel is already assigned to him. If this is so, then there are already guardian angels hovering over pregnant women. There may be two: one for the mother and one for the baby. The movie “Hearts & Souls”, which starred Robert Downey, is an example of this. The minute Downey’s character was born, angels were already appointed to him (although they were angels from an accident that occurred when he was born inside a taxicab).
Like God, our guardian angels send us messages through our thoughts and feelings.
Our guardian angels do not take the human form. Therefore, they cannot interact or communicate with us the way humans do. Instead, they talk to us through our thoughts and feelings. Sometimes, they also use signs or images. Sometimes, out of the blue, a thought will occur to us. It can be about something that we need to decide on or something related to a current situation we are involved in. This is our guardian angel communicating with us.
Yes, our guardian angels have names.
Except for Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, our guardian angels are assigned names by God. He is the only one who can give them names. Knowing the names of our guardian angels make it easier for us to talk to them should we feel that we need their guidance.
We all like the thought that our guardian angels are constantly watching over us. Knowing this gives us a feeling of security. It helps us become strong even when faced with difficulties. Knowing that our guardian angels are with us at all times make us feel happy and blessed. Whether you have or have not experienced an angel touching your life, you should know that one is always watching over you and guiding you through life. Here are four signs that your guardian is right beside or behind you.
If you see lights that flash or shimmer for no reason, this is a sign that an angel is with you. This commonly happens in your dreams or when you are meditating. Sometimes, you might see flashes of light from the corner of your eye. This is another indication that an angel is nearby. Angels are light beings, so expect a lot of light and orbs when one or two are with you.
If you suddenly feel at peace and relaxed, an angel is probably embracing you. Sometimes, when you are in the middle of a challenging situation or when you’ve been crying too much, you’ll suddenly feel lighter, and your sadness slowly disappears. When this happens, an angel can be embracing you. If you feel peaceful, relaxed, and calm all of a sudden, even when you’re too stressed out, you’re in the midst of an angel, guarding you and making you feel better.
A feather and a pleasant smell
Some people who shared their angel experiences confirmed that a white feather suddenly fell on her path when she felt her angel’s presence. The feather fell unexpectedly, unexplainably, and in an unlikely place. Another sign that an angel is with you is when you suddenly smell something sweet or pleasant. This pleasant smell unexpectedly appears regardless of where you are or what time of day it is. This, many say, is a sign that your guardian angel is reaching out to you. The pleasant smell can sometimes be in the form of flowers or food.
Your baby or pet sees something you don’t
There are times when your baby suddenly giggles as if she was playing with someone. In some instances, you may also notice your pet looking at something in a specific spot. Both of these are signs that an angel can be nearby or that one is communicating or playing with your baby or pet.
For many, spirituality is a sensitive issue. It is one of the things that they refuse to talk about publicly. They are either uncomfortable with the idea or afraid to find out the truth about their spirituality. If your spiritual life is stable, you have nothing to be afraid of. If it’s quite unstable, there are things that you can do to make it stronger. Here are three that you might want to try out.
Learn to pray.
You don’t need to go to Church. You can pray anywhere. Real praying is talking to God, to your angels. Real prayers come from the heart; they are not read, recited, or memorized. The more personal your prayers, the more heartfelt they are. Be honest when you pray. And don’t hesitate to pray anywhere and anytime. There is no specific time for praying. Some people pray before taking a bath or before crossing the street.
Focus on the positives in your life.
These positives are the blessings and little miracles you receive every day. You may not notice them, but they’re there and happening right under your nose. You’ll only realize they were blessings and miracles when you experience something that was a result of those things, or at the end of the day when you try to review the things that happened to you. The important thing to remember here is to focus on the positive and veer away from the negatives. Some people are fault finders and pessimistic that they focus too much on the bad side of life. As a result, they do not see the blessings that are heaped upon them. Don’t be like them. Be different. Be an optimist.
If you learn to thank God and acknowledge everything that’s given to you, your life will become a little better day after day. Again, you don’t have to go to Church and say a novena. Just pray and express your gratitude. The minute you wake up, whisper a message of thanks. As you go through your day, say a prayer of thanks. And before you go to sleep, include sincere words of gratitude in your prayer.
